We work in the mountains above Haiti’s capital city of Port-au-Prince. Hope in the Light Ministry helps the Haitian people overcome the devastating effects of poverty and develop the capacity to create a new future for themselves through a strong spiritual belief in God. Hope in the Light Ministry also provides a responsible way for people with charitable hearts to spread the Gospel and help the poor to a better life.

"Doing God's Work in Haiti"
UPDATE:
As of September 1, 2023, the situation in Haiti has grown increasingly worse. The U.S. Embassy issued the following, “U.S. citizens need to leave Haiti as soon as possible via commercial or private transport.” The Embassy had already announced the evacuation of non-emergency personnel and the families of the essential personnel. The current situation has made it very difficult and dangerous for our students, teachers and churches. Teachers have encountered roadblocks and shootings on their way to school. Fortunately, our students come from the rural areas, walk mountain trails and do not face the same perils. Our churches have been able to hold services on a regular basis. Usually, most of the people we serve live locally and can walk to church.
We ask for your prayers for Haiti, our students, teachers, churches and Hope in the Light. We seek wisdom and guidance for all our decisions. Hope in the Light wants to thank you for your faithful support of His work in Haiti. Currently, Hope in the Light is one of the only schools open in the country and we have had a recent surge in enrollment. We are thankful for the blessings of new students. We pray for God's provision over our ministry.
